Epicurean Delights - Hong Kong

Poon Choi, also known as Big Bowl Feast, is a traditional Chinese dish that dates back to Song Dynasty (AD1270s), when the Imperial family fled from Mongolian invasion to Hong Kong. Villagers served the stranded Emperor and his army with cooked pork, beef, duck, shrimp, mushrooms and other various ingredients in wooden washing basins. For years, Poon Choi has been an exclusive dish prepared for religious rituals, New Year festivities, and wedding banquets. Nowadays, you can enjoy the Big Bowl Feast at restaurants throughout the year.
